The Human Reference Atlas effort integrates five complementary resources. The HRA Knowledge Graph anchors the system with 10,064,033 nodes and 171,250,177 edges covering 71 organs, 5,800 anatomical structures, 2,268 cell types, and 2,531 biomarkers . HRApop then populates that graph spatially: 27.6M cells (11.0M transcriptomic, 16.6M proteomic) across 662 atlas datasets and 230 extraction sites, enabling 3D cell-type-composition predictions from 16,293 input datasets .
The newest component, HRAftu-LM-RAG, mines 244,640 PMC publications and 1,389,168 figures, categorizing 617,237 images, extracting 331,189 scale bars and 1,719,138 biological entity mentions via five LLM/LVM workflows with RAG grounding .
The anatomical foundation rests on 22 FTUs across 10 organs with quantified dimensions (nephron 30β50 mm vs. spleen red pulp 0.02β0.04 mm) , while HRAlit links 7.1M PubMed publications, 917,061 funded projects, and 1,816 experimental datasets for provenance and expert attribution .
What would change this assessment: independent reproduction of FTU-property extraction on held-out PMC subsets failing; HRApop spatial-origin predictions systematically missing on externally registered tissue blocks; or demonstration that CTann tool disagreement (Azimuth vs CellTypist vs popV) exceeds reported variance .
